This January at the famous Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) in Geneva, the luxury watch juggernaut IWC Schaffhausen invited 800 international guests back to the golden age of flying pioneers and the launch of their brand new Pilot’s watch collection. In a night filled with jazz, swing and a throng of movie and music stars from all over the globe, the night entitled ‘Come fly with us’ introduced the world to a new stage for IWC.
The star studded night saw music legends like Patti Austin, Ronan Keating, Curtis Stigers, Eric Harland and Till Brönner perform along with a troupe of 1930’s dancers specifically flown in for the event which was led by the British comedian and favorite welsh son, Rob Brydon.
The red carpet was full of the amazing cast that makes up the IWC brand ambassador list, including Hilary Swank, Christoph Waltz, Roasmund Pike, Dev Patel, Chris Evans and Lewis Hamilton to name but a few, as well as supermodels Adriana Lima and Karolína Kurková posing the night away with their brand new timepieces.
“I enjoyed every minute. The thirties atmosphere was so creatively interpreted that I kept thinking I was on a film set,” – Rosamund Pike
With a booth that featured a genuine Spitfire flown in from Manchester England specifically for the event, the new aesthetic of the collection was clear, hangar-like corrugated steel elements, dark wood floors and walls, brown vintage leather sofas and a fire-place, together with framed photographs of pilots and old aircraft all gave the night away and allowed people the chance to experience exactly what the Pilot watches mean to the IWC team.
“Many of us have shared a fascination for aircraft and flying since our childhood years. IWC’s Pilot’s Watches bring this passion to people’s wrists and are popular with watch devotees all over the world,” – Georges Kern.
